A flash flood warning is in effect until 7 a-m for Sac and Calhoun counties in northwestern Iowa. Heavy rain hit that region overnight, according to meteorologist Chuck Myers at the National Weather Service office in Johnston. West of Fort Dodge, between Manson, Lake View and Charter Oak, the area got six to 12 inches of rain overnight. Myers says there are no reports in yet of any significant damage from hail or high winds.Motorists are warned not to try and drive across flooded areas. Much of the rest of the state can expect scattered showers today and possibly through the end of the week.
