International wrestling comes to Sioux City

International wrestling visits Sioux City next week when the U-S team takes on Turkey in a dual meet. Spokesman Tim Tushla says the dual will be next Wednesday night at Briar Cliff College. Tushla says the meet will feature two of the top wrestling programs in the world. Tushla says Turkey is one of the top wrestling teams in the world. Tushla says unlike the high school and collegiate wrestling style here in the U-S, international wrestling is called freestyle. Tushla says the scoring, and the amount of time spent on the mat is different. Tushla says the U-S team will be led by a couple of familiar names. Mark Manning, the head coach of the University of Nebraska is the world team coach. Tushla says Lincoln McIlravy will also conduct free clinic for coaches and kids prior to the dual meet.
