The Iowa Conference baseball tournament begins in Waterloo on Thursday but the automatic spot into the N-C-A-A regional has already been determined. The overall champion is determined by combining the regular season results with the tournament outcome. After winning the regular season by six games, Wartburg is already in.Wartburg coach Joel Holst says with the conference tournament set up just like a regional it will be good preparation for his team.Wartburg opens the tournament against Simpson and Holst says avoiding the losers bracket early is always a key.Holst says while the Knights are moving on, how they perform this weekend may have an impact on their seeding in the regional.The other first round games find Upper Iowa against William Penn and Cornell plays Coe.
