UNI heads west, but not far, for NCAA baseball tourney

The Northern Iowa baseball team will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska for Friday’s start of N-C-A-A regional play. The Panthers earned the spot in the tournament by winning their first Missouri Valley Conference tournament title last weekend in Wichita. For the Panthers and coach Rick Heller it has been quite a turn-a-round. Two weeks ago after their final home game the Panthers weren’t even sure they would qualify for the conference tournament.Heller says not only is the eight-game winning streak impressive but the way it has been built with five comeback wins. Heller says the players don’t want the season top end this weekend.
