Mother and daughter arrested in Decorah shoplifting case

A northeast Iowa mother and daughter are accused of shoplifting and reselling thousands of dollars of merchandise. 51-year-old Ida Heins and her daughter 29-year-old Patricia Heins, both of Luana, are charged with second degree theft. Decorah police say they seized 40-thousand dollars in cash they believe the women made after selling the stolen merchandise at flea markets. Police also recovered 10-thousand dollars worth of stolen merchandise from the Decorah Wal-Mart. They say the two women were identified after store employees allegedly saw the two stealing videotapes from the store. Decorah police say its one of the biggest shoplifting cases they’ve ever identified.
