The Iowa softball team opens the College World Series tonight in Oklahoma City against U-C-L-A. For the Hawkeyes it is a fourth trip to the series since 1995 but they will take on a tradition-rich program that has won eight national titles and enters this week as the second ranked team in the country.Iowa coach Gayle Blevins says they don’t mind the role of underdog, although they face a very talented opponent with great depth and pitching.Blevins says at this point every game is against a great opponent. She says any time you narrow down to the final eight, you’re going to have tough competition. Blevins says this is where every team wants to be when the season begins, getting a chance to play for the National Title. Iowa has played seven games against teams in the World Series and has a record of 4-3.
