The lawn at the Governor’s mansion in Des Moines will soon be transformed into Peter Pan’s “Neverland” for the 3rd annual “Spring Fling” literacy event for kids and parents. First Lady Christie Vilsack says she and the Governor will be there, dressed as their favorite Peter Pan characters. She’ll be Tinkerbell and the governor will be the crocodile.”Spring Fling in Neverland” will include storytelling, puppets, face painting, demonstrations, and food. The First Lady says all the fun promotesliteracy.Guests at Terrace Hill are invited to dress as their favorite Peter Pan character, too, but it’s not required. Spring Fling is scheduled today from 11 a.m. ’til two o’clock.
