The Top of Iowa Welcome Center near Northwood is the first facility in the state to become what’s considered a “Primary” Iowa Welcome Center. The designation was announced today by Iowa Division of Tourism Administrator Nancy Landess. Most of the state’s welcome centers already offer plenty of parking, restroom facilities and vending machines, but the “primary” facilities will go beyond the basics, with a gift shop selling Iowa-made products. And it even offers people the ability to check their e-mail while traveling. The Top of Iowa Welcome Center and Rest Area is located off Interstate 35 at exit 214 just south of the Minnesota border.
