Many of Iowa’s ethnic, racial and religious groups are the focus of this weekend’s Folklife Festival in Waterloo. Festival Director Riki Saltzmann of the Iowa Arts Council says it’s the largest festival of its kind since the state’s Sesquicentennial Celebration. She says you learn about folklife from families, friends and school.Saltzman says the festival includes music, food, dancers, storytelling, craftspeople and demonstrations of traditional skills and games, and really shows off Iowa’s diversity.The free festival runs through Sunday.
