Polk County officials have signed H-O-K Sport as the official architect of a proposed sports arena in downtown Des Moines. Polk County spokesman Phil Roeder says the company has been involved with the project for several years.Roeder says H-O-K Sport has been working on the design for the project for about a year. He says they’ll now take the design and do everything necessary to prepare the design for the actual construction.Roeder says H-O-K is at the forefront of the industry. He says you can’t turn on you TV without seeing a stadium designed by the company.Officials hope to break ground on the arena this fall.
