Northern Iowa’s Ryan Brunner has added to his list of awards. Brunner has been named a second team All-American by Baseball America magazine. The Charles City native hit three-77 and slammed 25-homers this past season in being named the Missouri Valley Conference most valuable player and leading U-N-I to the N-C-A-A regionals. Earlier he was named a first-team All-American by the coaches.U-N-I coach Rick Heller says while Brunner had outstanding numbers throughout his career and he raised his level of play this season.Heller says Brunner worked to improve his game since the start of his freshman year.Brunner is playing in the pro ranks with the Lowell Spinners, the class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
