The Sioux City West baseball team could make school history tonight with a doubleheader at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. At 29-2, West is one victory away from equaling the school record of 30-victories that has been accomplished twice. Coach Kevin Dicus led the 1993 squad that won 30 games and played on the 1983 team that won 30 games. He was a junior on the team that went 30-9 and lost in the first round of districts. He told his 19993 team he would shave his head if they set the record.Dicus told his players there will be no shaving when this team sets a school record, but he did tell them he will shave his head if they make it to state. Dicus says the goals for this team go beyond the regular season. He says they’ve circled the start of the district tournament on the calendar as they want to play their best at tournament time.
