The new commissioner of the Iowa Conference says he does not believe the league will be looking to expand in the near future. Sioux City native John Cochrane has been named the new commissioner after serving in the championship office of the N-C-A-A. William Penn left the conference at the end of the school year to join the N-A-I-A ranks. He says they have 10 members which he thinks is a good number that provides plenty of scheduling flexibility. Cochrane says many times conferences can become too big.Cochrane says league’s that become too big encounter scheduling difficulties, especially in the sport of football.Cochrane will begin his duties on July 15th.
