Ryan Rump will start a process that he hopes will lead to a turn-a-round of the basketball fortunes at Burlington Notre Dame High School. Rump, last week was named the new boys’ basketball coach and activities director at Notre Dame. Up until this point, Rump had been working for John Deere in the Quad Cities, but says he knew he eventually wanted to get into athletics.Rump is familiar with the area having played six sports while attending Fort Madison Aquinas before playing college basketball at St. Ambrose.Rump says he sees a lot of potential in the Notre Dame program. He says it’s a great town with great people and he wants to bring the town a winning program. Rump says he wants to build the program for the long haul, which he says will involve getting younger kids involved.
