Northern Iowa is another big step closer to a new ethanol plant. Kossuth County voters Tuesday overwhelmingly gave the county the okay to go ahead with bonding 5-point-2 million dollars from Midwest Grain Processors in its effort to locate an ethanol plant near Lakota. 78-percent of the voters said yes. The 59-million dollar plant would process 16-million bushels of corn to produce 45-million gallons of ethanol a year.
