Officials with the Iowa Games are making final preparations for this weekend’s summer sports festival in Ames. The games will begin Friday and include opening ceremonies that night.Iowa Games executive director Jim Hallihan says they’re putting up tents, marking fields and doing all the things that need to be done for the competition. He says each the year the event requires a number of volunteers, and they’re getting some new groups to volunteer this year.Hallihan says there are plenty of details to go over, as the last week is a big rush to get everything done.
