How’s the air quality today? In hot weather you’re more likely to encounter smog and high pollutant levels. Now there’s a way to get daily updates online, at the DNR’s new easy-to-reach website. Spokesman Brian Button says the state invested in a new “domain name” for the site. They registered “iowacleanair-dot-com, which is easier for manufacturers or citizens to find. Button says a lot of Iowans are Internet-savvy, but it takes a while to page through the state website to get to the DNR’s air-quality information. It’s linked with the state website but easier to type in directly instead of clicking from the homepage of the state of Iowa. In addition to air quality, the site businesses direct access to “SPARS,” the state permitting and air reporting system,” which they can use to file required reports and get state permits.
