The state plans to enact several changes in how Iowa’s 52-thousand notaries public perform their duties. Iowa Secretary of State Chet Culver is holding a series of meetings before the changeover to better educate the state’s notaries. Culver says the number of complaints about notaries has jumped recently.Culver says the new procedures will go into effect starting January 1st.Culver says notaries have some new methods they can try out on his department’s website.Culver made his comments recently in Mason City.
