Higher expectations for the Iowa football team have not translated into higher season ticket sales. Hawkeye ticket manager David Sandstrum says about 31-thousand season tickets were sold for the 2000 season and he expects about the same number this year. He says there are universities that don’t sell that many tickets, and there’s potential it will go higher.Sandstrum says plenty of single game tickets remain for all the home games.Sandstrum says despite three consecutive losing seasons attendance has remained strong. He says Iowa was 24th in the nation in season attendance last year.Sandstrum says within a couple of weeks fans will be able to order tickets on the Internet.Iowa opens the season September first against Kent State.
