Iowa State University’s “PrISUm Odyssey” solar car finished in the middle of the pack in their cross county race that ended Wednesday in Los Angeles. Nick Mohr, a spokesman for the team, says they don’t know their exact final position in the race, but believe it’s 16th. Mohr says the racecourse itself was the biggest challenge. The 650-thousand dollar car was the most expensive ever built at I-S-U due to a lot of new technology. Mohr says the car held up pretty well.Past solar races have been timed, staged events with the cars starting together every day. Mohr says the team liked the new format, which was an actual race to the finish. The American Solar Challenge started July 15th in Chicago and ended Wednesday after 23-hundred miles.
