The state high school baseball tournament wrapped up over the weekend.In class 3A, Granville Spalding won a second straight title and for the second straight season downed Lansing Kee in the title game with a 5-0 victory. Spalding coach Bill Wuebker says his team was focused on defending the title. Spalding’s Alex Budden tossed a one hitter and Kee High coach Gene Schultz says he kept their hitters off balance all day.West Des Moines Dowling claimed the 4A crown with a 13-2 win over Marshalltown.
