Former vice president Al Gore’s road back into the political spotlight passes through Iowa next month. Gore will speak at the Iowa Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson/Jackson Day banquet on Saturday, September 29.Iowa Democratic Party chair Dr. Sheila McGuire Riggs. She says they’re honored that Gore has chosen to attend and they want to thank him for strengthening the party.The event will give Gore a chance to meet face-to-face with Iowans who supported his 2000 presidential bid. Gore overwhelmingly won Iowa’s Caucuses in January of 2000. Gore and then rival Bill Bradley spoke at the 1999 Iowa Democrat Party Jefferson/Jackson Day dinner, a major turning point in that contest.
