A man wanted in connection with a robbery spree in the Quad Cities died after fleeing from law officers.24-year-old Terrell Gathright died early Tuesday morning in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. He was being chased by police for running a red light and hit a utility pole. Gathright was declared dead at the scene. An autopsy showed he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police say a handgun, ski mask and gloves were found in the car. Gathright was the fifth of five men being sought in connection with holdups of Davenport and Rock Island, Illinois, restaurants and taverns in July. Three Rock Island men and a Moline, Illinois, man are already in custody.
