It’s not quite like the Von Trapp family from “The Sound of Music”, but one Iowa family has four children playing in this year’s “Talent Search” competition at the State Fair. Twelve-year-old Bjorn Borg of Van Meter was the first of the Borg siblings to compete in this year’s talent show. He played the cello while his sister accompanied on piano. Then, 20-year-old Allison Borg played a piano solo; 16-year-old Annalisa played a harp solo and 10-year-old Anders played a fiddle solo. Mom Sandy Borg says there’s always music in her home as they inherited a piano when their first daughter was born. They put each child on a new instrument to give them some variety. As you might suspect, the kids have formed an ensemble they call “Quality Strings and Things”.Allison says playing with her siblings is “just neat,” because they know each other so well.
