A new era is underway at William Penn as the Statesmen prepare for the upcoming football season. Penn left the Iowa Conference at the end of this last season and dropped the N-C-A-A division three classification to join the N-A-I-A ranks. The shake-up has left Penn with nearly an entire new roster and coach Jim Cox brought in 26-transfers to keep from having to play a number of freshmen this fall.Cox says to be competitive this first season the defense will need to play well.Cox says the Statesmen face a difficult schedule. They open at home against Midland Lutheran on September first.
