A Manchester woman is one of four finalists who’ll be inducted into the Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame tomorrow.Phyllis Hughes, a longtime Manchester attorney, was chosen from 30 nominees across the state to be inducted during the year 2001. Inductees are chosen for their service to their communities and the state of Iowa. Hughes has practiced law in Milwaukee, New York, Washington, D.C., and Europe. She’s also been honored by Pope John the Second for her dedicated service to farmers. She also designed and presented a tribute to Iowa women, a bronze medallion from the women of Iowa during the state’s sesquicentennial celebration.
