Former Charles City man killed by girlfriend

A former Charles City man is dead after being shot in the head by his girlfriend in Arizona.20-year-old Jeffrey Obermeier was found dead early yesterday morning in his Phoenix apartment. Police have arrested 25-year-old Delene Kettleson and are holding her on one count of second-degree homicide. Police are saying that Kettleson told them just before the shooting, Obermeier pointed a laser-sighted, semi-automatic handgun at her. Kettleson says Obermeier allegedly told her it didn’t hurt to have the laser pointed at her and challenged her to take the weapon and point it at him. According to police, Kettleson did and the gun discharged, shooting Obermeier in the head. Police say they’ll determine if the gun was manufactured and designed correctly.
