This is the last big weekend for camping in Iowa. Even so, Steve Pennington of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says you won’t find most parks crowded. He says Memorial Day and the 4th of July are the biggies for camping, as some kids are back in a school and not as many people can get away. Pennington says traffic at state campgrounds will slow down a little bit although, he says many people like to camp in the fall as it’s cooler out. He says they also enjoy the fall colors. You might think the parks would close once the snow starts flying, but that’s not the case.Pennington says you can check the D-N-R’s website to find out more about state campgrounds.
