Iowa Congressmen witness and react to terrorist attacks

Iowa Congressman Jim Nussle witnessed the terrorist attack on the Pentagon Tuesday.Nussle was walking outside, between buildings at the Pentagon, and saw the explosion. Nussle says the attacks will change America. He says “we need to be shocked by this, and need to channel that shock into action.” Nussle says that appears to be happening as people volunteer to help.Congressman Jim Leach says great democracies like the U-S are always vulnerable to terrorism. He says it may be “a benchmark day in American relations with the world.”Congressman Leonard Boswell compares yesterday’s attack to the Japanese assault on Pearl Harbor.Boswell says the terrorist strikes were “sneaky and terrible.”
