Vilsack ran from the Governor’s Mansion a little over two miles to his office at the capitol. Vilsack invited a dozen Des Moines high schoolers to run alongside.Iowa’s chief executive runs 30 miles a week, and this “Run to Work” event was originally set aside to promote physical fitness.
