Iowa House Representative Andra Atteberry, a democrat from Manchester, says this week’s tragic incidents that occurred in the United States have brought back bitter memories of another tragedy that occurred in her own life thirty years ago this month. In 1971, Atteberry’s father was killed in an Alaskan airline crash in Juneau, Alaska which also claimed the lives of more than one hundred people. Atteberry says it was difficult for her and her family to cope with this week’s events.Atteberry says she can’t imagine how anyone could commit such tragic acts of terrorism.Atteberry says the recent acts of terrorism will help strengthen the country in the future as the “true spirit of America is not going to be destroyed by this.” She encourages Americans to continue to pray for survivors and future leaders in dealing with this week’s tragedy.
