In high school football tonight in class 4A, top-ranked West Des Moines Dowling renews its rivalry with fifth-ranked West Des Moines Valley. Dowling coach Matt Dillon says Valley has a solid defense and the goal for his Maroons is to keep Valley off balance.Valley coach Gary Swenson says having both schools in the same community and their pasts contests really “steps things up” for this game.Swenson says his team is approaching the game as an underdog.In eight-man football, top-ranked Adair-Casey visits Essex. A-C coach Ron Peck says his team can’t focus on the ranking, as he says Essex will pose a challenge.
