Tighter security measures at the Iowa National Guard’s 1133rd Transportation Company headquarters in Mason City mean the armory cannot be a polling site for a special election Tuesday.Cerro Gordo County auditor Ken Kline says there were too many security measures to comply with, so moving the polling site was the best choice. Kline says anyone who’s registered in the county could’ve showed up at the site to vote, and that made it tough to identify everyone. Mason City voters head to the polls to decide on a two million dollar bond referendum to help fund a new aquatic center, as well as decide on a new second ward city councilman.
