It’s “Dine-Out America” Day.
A nationwide coalition of restaurants including some big chains, came up with the idea, just as movie theatres did a few weeks back, to invite everyone out for a night and donate some percent of their profits to the Red Cross. Organizers say there are more than six thousand participating nationwide, and they’re nice sit-down restaurants for the most part, where you’ll get a steak, not a burger. “Dine Out America” is endorsed by the National Restaurant Association, and some national as well as Iowa chains are taking part. Some patrons may find their appetite dulled, though, remembering today is the one-month anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
