A group of Iowans from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration left for New York Sunday to help with the clean up at the World Trade Center site. Another group will leave this weekend. OSHA spokesman Steve Slater says they’ll help workers at the “Ground Zero.”Slater says Iowa workers in two different areas are making the trip.A total of 19 volunteers that include industrial hygienists and safety staff will make the trip. Slater several of the staff members have experience in investigating disasters, but nothing of this magnitude.Slater says the Iowans feel this is a way they can help the country.The Federal OSHA office is paying the travel costs of the Iowans heading to New York. The first group will return next Monday. The second group will leave Saturday (November 24) and return December 3rd.
