Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold made a stop in Iowa City last night to talk with students. Feingold, who’s a democrat, was the only U-S Senator to vote against the anti-terrorism bill. He says it undercuts basic civil liberties.Feingold’s stop at the University of Iowa is part of his tour of college campuses across the country.Feingold says people on college campuses are some of his best allies in the effort to get campaign finance reform, stop racial profiling and enact a moratorium on the death penalty.Feingold says his visit to Iowa is not an indication he wants to run for president in 2004. He says he’ll run for re-election to the Senate then.
