The verdict is in in the case of the Perry mother who admitted to leaving her baby daughter in a hot minivan last June.  A Dallas County Judge has found 35-year-old Kari Engholm not guilty of neglect of a dependent child and involuntary manslaughter in the death of her seven-month-old daughter Clare.

The girl died of heat exposure after being left in the family minivan all day. Engholm testified during her trial last week that she forgot to drop her daughter at daycare because of thoughts of a busy day ahead as the chief executive of the Dallas County Hospital.

Judge Paul Huscher ruled that Engholm was not guilty on both charges.
