The Iowa Hawkeyes enter finals week with an impressive three-game winning streak, the latest an 83-65 victory on the road at second-ranked Missouri. The victory avenged a one-point loss to the Tigers earlier this season. Iowa coach Steve Alford says his dad told him there would be upsets like the loss to Northern Iowa, but he says he’d be glad to go through that if it got the same results as the three game win streak they’re on now.He says he was pleased the Hawks came out strong to begin the second half after playing well in the opening half. The Hawks got a big lift from Freshman guard Pierre Pierce who had 17-points and five assists. Pierce says he gets more confident with every game as he says his coach has been confident in him and that helps.Pierce says the Hawks were ready to play, he says Missouri “stole one from us” in the first game and says they were confident they could win the rematch.
