A Northwood police officer was -not- seriously injured after losing control of his car during a high-speed chase in north-central Iowa and southern Minnesota over the weekend. Two Wisconsin juveniles were arrested late Saturday afternoon just across the Iowa-Minnesota border after a high speed chase through Worth County. According to the Freeborn County (MN) Sheriff’s office, a Manly police officer attempted to stop a white Ford Mustang, which then went north out of Manly on U-S Highway 656 through Kensett and Northwood, crossing the border between Worth and Freeborn counties shortly before 5 o’clock. The vehicle was then stopped when the Freeborn County Sheriff’s office deployed what are known as “Stinger stop sticks”, which deflated the tires of the vehicle. Minnesota authorities did not immediately release the names of the juveniles involved in the incident, and charges are pending.
