A move for a weather-service broadcasting tower will mean better coverage for residents in west-central Iowa.Guthrie, Adair and Greene Counties will soon be covered by severe-weather broadcasts of the national Weather Service, which moved the WXL-57 transmitter this month from Saylorville to Alleman. That’ll give it greater range for severe-weather watch and warning information on 162.550 megahertz. The weather service transmitter should be sending three more counties the weather data by the end of the month. The weather service put on hold plans for a new transmitter in Panora to cover the area.
