One person was killed, another hurt in a crash on Interstate-80 near Shelby on Sunday morning. Investigators say 48-year-old Brent Christensen of Silver City hit an icy stretch of road and lost control. His car crossed the center median and crashed head-on into a car driven by 29-year-old Matthew Schwartz-Smith of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Schwartz-Smith died at the scene. A passenger in that car was taken to the hospital. Christensen was not hurt.
