It’s no yolk. This year’s 17th Annual Egg Cooking Contest has been peppered up to lure more cooks into the kitchen. Iowa Egg Council spokeswoman Holly Sorge says the prize money is much beefier in 2002’s edition, the top prize in each division is 750-dollars. Sorge says the contest rules are simple. There will be five winners in each of two divisions, one for students in grades seven through 12, and an adult division. The original recipes need to use at least four whole eggs and they’ll be judged in categories like originality, nutrition, appearance and taste. The final cookoff to determine the grand prize winners will be held in late March.
