MidAmerican Energy announced the site of it’s second new energy plant today. The company says it will build a one-point-four billion dollar coal-fire electric plant at its Council Bluffs Energy Center. The plant is expected to be completed at the site south of Council Bluffs by the spring of 2007. The plant is a companion to a natural gas plant the company plans to build in a Des Moines suburb. Council Bluffs officials say the new plant will generate three-and-a-half million dollars in taxes per year and create 77 more jobs at the Council Bluffs Energy Center.
