The Iowa Hawkeyes host Indiana Sunday in a nationally televised Big Ten contest. Iowa Coach Steve Alford played for the Hoosiers under then Coach Bobby Knight. That created a lot of interest in the Hawkeye-Hoosier matchups, but Alford says that interest has fallen off since Knight left Indiana.Indiana is 3-0 in the conference, while Iowa is 2-1. Alford was asked if that puts more pressure on them to win to stay in contention for the conference title. Alford says it’s still early in the season to worry about that. Iowa beat the Hoosiers in their one regular season meeting last year. Alford says the way they won that game was memorable.Iowa beat the Hoosiers again in the Big Ten tournament. Alford says they triumphed by beating them on the boards and playing good defense.Alford says the Hoosiers are better this year because they have most of last year’s starters back. The game Sunday has an early tipoff at noon.
