The leader of a state business group is hoping the legislature will take action in the upcoming session to ensure long-term business growth in the state. David Brasher is the director of the Iowa Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business. Brasher says the legislature can send the message that economic growth and development is extremely important. He admits it may not be the year to address major issues, but says the legislature can do some small things. One suggestion is treating tax income by corporations all the same.Brasher says the N-F-I-B also wants the legislature to look at expanding the access to venture capital in the state. The Iowa chapter of the N-F-I-B has nearly 10-thousand members.
