Iowans who have some Japanese language skills are being offered a scholarship to study in Iowa’s sister state in Japan, but the deadline to apply is only a few days away. Phil Latessa, executive director of Iowa Sister States, says the scholarship is a one-year full-ride.The scholarship covers: airfare, housing, tuition for auditing courses, insurance, book fees, travel expenses and other perks, including a bicycle. Latessa says Iowans who apply for the scholarship need to meet a few key qualifications.The Iowan who is chosen will be spending a year in the Yamanashi prefecture of Japan.
