The Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service is offering grants to youth groups who want to make improvements in their community. Commission spokesman Dennis Guffy says grants of up to 250 dollars are available.The object of the program is to get youth groups to partner with another community group to plan and carry out a local community service project. This if the fourth year of the program, and Guffy says they’ve seen a lot of good projects completed.The program has been so successful that the commission has increased its funding. Guffy says groups have until March 15th to apply for the grants.You can get the information at: www.volunteeriowa.org, or at any county 4-H office.
