A wide array of weather is ahead for Iowans today with temperatures expected near 70-degrees in some areas and in the 20s elsewhere. Miles Schumacher, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Johnston, says a Winter Weather Advisory is up for northwestern Iowa.Schumacher says any snow that does accumulate today won’t be around very long as warmer weather should be just a few days away. He says today’s diverse forecast is following a rather typical spring-like pattern with its wide range of temperatures. He says a system across Southeast Iowa has warm air on the south side and cool air on the north, which leads to the temperature contrast. He says there’s also a slight chance today for hail, thunderstorms, severe winds and, yes, even tornadoes.
