Authorities say all four young eastern Iowans killed in a fiery Louisa County car crash last week were drunk. Blood tests show all four were intoxicated. A medical examiner says the driver, 20-year-old Troy Smith, had a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit. Two passengers were 15 years old, the other was 18. All four were from Wapello. The four had apparently been drinking beer. An investigation is underway into where they got the beer.
