Buena Vista has been the early surprise of the Iowa Conference baseball race. The Beavers are 5-1 in league play after a doubleheader sweep of Upper Iowa over the weekend. Second-year coach Steve Eddie says coming into the season they were hoping to finish in the upper half.Eddie says for a team trying to turn things around, a good start is a confidence boost.Eddie says every doubleheader becomes crucial because the title race is wide open. Eddie says the key from here will be starting pitching. He says their starters need to go deep into the game, as they don’t have a deep bullpen. Eddie says that’s the case with most of the teams in the conference.B-V plays the University of Sioux Falls tomorrow in non-conference action.
